Why foreign sellers open an LLP in Kazakhstan

An LLP (TOO) is the most common business form in Kazakhstan: members are liable only up to their contribution, and the company can be registered online. For marketplace sellers it is a way to work with Kaspi.kz directly and sell on Wildberries and Ozon from Kazakhstan.

We handle not only registration but also the launch: we receive goods at our fulfillment warehouses, including cargo from China, and connect your store to the marketplaces.

Can a foreigner open an LLP in Kazakhstan?

Yes. A foreign citizen or a foreign company can be the founder of an LLP. Restrictions apply only to certain activities — for example, security services and some media and telecommunications.

Can I open an LLP without coming to Kazakhstan?

As a rule, yes — through a representative under a notarized power of attorney. They obtain the IIN and digital signature in the founder’s name and file the documents. Note: since April 2026 the registration authority may, in certain cases, require the founder’s personal presence, so it is worth checking your situation in advance.

Is an apostille required?

The power of attorney and a copy of the passport are certified by a notary in the founder’s country and apostilled. For Minsk Convention countries, including Russia, an apostille is formally not required, but in practice it is better to have one to avoid refusals.

What is an IIN and why does a foreigner need it?

An IIN is an individual identification number. Without it you cannot get a digital signature, register a company or open a bank account. A non-resident can obtain an IIN through a representative under a power of attorney.

Who can be the director?

The director can be either a citizen of Kazakhstan or a foreigner. If a foreign director will work in the country, the requirements of migration law apply.
